INSTRUCTIONS

1. Download and install the Xamarin Installer from the Official Website.
2. Copy "mandroid.exe" to "C:Program Files (x86)MSBuildXamarinAndroid" (or "C:Program FilesMSBuildXamarinAndroid" if you are on a 32-bit operating system).
3. Copy "mtouch.exe" to "C:Program Files (x86)MSBuildXamariniOS" (or "C:Program FilesMSBuildXamariniOS" if you are on a 32-bit operating system).
4. ???
5. Profit!

Download and install in the following order:
1. GTK# - http://download.xamarin.com/GTKforWindows/Windows/gtk-sharp-2.12.21.msi
2. Xamarin.Android - http://download.xamarin.com/MonoforAndroid/Windows/mono-android-4.8.00013.msi
3. Xamarin.iOS - http://download.xamarin.com/MonoTouchforVisualStudio/Windows/Xamarin.iOS_Setup-1.3.250.0.msi
4. Xamarin Studio - http://download.xamarin.com/studio/Windows/XamarinStudio-4.0.10-7.msi

Under Xamarin, it's not working for me too, I've got a "Error at initialization of bundled DLL: mono-2.0.dll" when launching the IDE or compiling.

So, my mono-2.0.dll error is only appearing on W8-64 : tested on two computers. Maybe the original patcher can fix that ?
On W7-64, it works perfectly. If you use the regular xamarin installer after the instructions, it installs the addons, and it seems to work in visual studio 2012 (i tried until the addon try to launch the android emulator, did not try really debugging)

but there still isnt any visual studio support do

Do you have any idea of the version of the mandroid.exe file included ? It's smaller than the real one and the hacked one of this torrent.

I must be missing something. I created a restore point, installed using their installer, updated DLLs (second download in comments) , and making a new project asked me to log in. Rolled back to restore point, installed using the links in order listed in description, updated DLLs, same dialog.

how am I getting around the license request? 2012 Ultimate Win8. All help or tips are appreciated.

Like I said before First Did the unsuccessful patch where xamarin studio works and visual studio doesnt, in order for vs to work I updated xamarin android it from xamarin studio to version 4.8.1 and applied the patch again and after doing so visual studio running and working this qwas done in windows 8 64 bit

Angel I'll assume that was directed to me. Thankfully I understood everything you said the first time, but I think I didn't make my point clear enough. As I install in the correct order then use Xamarin studio to update, it asks me to log in; if I don't, it won't update. If I do log in, it tells me that I need a business subscription to update. Does that make sense? I can't update due to the fact that I can't log in, and it's making me log in. I would have thought that the patch would prevent me from having to log in.

I'm getting somewhere. I downloaded the installer from X's website and installed it, then installed the 4 files listed in the description. I overwrote the files Angel linked to, and since I don't see any mono-2.0.dll I copied that file to both mentioned directories. Opening an android project in VS12 still wanted me to log in, but now it looks like I can open iOS projects; I couldn't build, since I don't have a mac, but I got the whole thing opened.

Did you patch it before updating??? The Update dialog appeared after I patched it and went into xamarin studio, if it asks for login ni xamarin studio then ou didnt patch it, it didnt ask me for any login except in visual studio,

side note I beleive the dll only is necessary in the android folder

OK so thanks to Angel I got it to work. Here's exactly what I did:
1) Follow INSTRUCTIONS, not the four steps below with the separate installers- ignore that
2) Download Angel's zip with the updated files
3) Copy mandroid AND mono-2.0 to the android directory specified
4) Copy mtouch AND mono-2.0 to the ios directory

I kept installing the four files- either by themselves, before and/or after the official installer. JUST the official installer, then the files in the thread- NOT the torrent.

My NOD32 found Win32/Packed.VMProtect.ABD trojan program in both mandroid.exe and mtouch.exe files. The same is observed in files, downloaded from csdn.net and wuleba.com. After downloading and every time I try to contact with files they are trying to access explorer.exe
